The Transient Friends
The Transient Friends is Taylor Smythe, myself, and—well—our transient friends. Taylor and I started making music together back in 2016 and have produced an EP, many singles, and most recently our first full-length album and accompanying film. We make music when we have time and feel inspired. Usually our hangs together as friends begin with catch-ups and chats that then yield songs pretty quickly. It’s been a fun project where I get to play primary producer and Taylor primary songwriter. The name came from our realization post college that friends come and go, move in and move out, and are are sometimes for a season. The songs we write attempt to capture the feelings that come with such relationship experiences.

MULTIVERSE
The Transient Friends first full-length album and most ambitious project yet. Involving the most friends and the most songs and the most time, twelve tracks tell a story that turned into a movie.
So much work from Taylor Smythe and I went into making these songs. They’re fun, and totally throwback but in our own way.
Taylor made an hour long film to accompany the record, almost all by himself. Of course with a little help from our friends. Turning the musical concepts into a visual story, we follow Taylor Smythe (played by himself) while he encounters different versions of himself in a multiverse crossover.
