Different pages - original song and video
This is an animated music video for an original song I wrote called Different Pages.
This is the first time I've combined my animation skillset with my own music. I've always wanted to animate music videos of my songs. However, the time investment of animation vs. music production of the same length is quite disproportional (with animation taking the most time, of course).
Right after I wrote and recorded Different Pages, I was inspired to tell a visual story along with the song. I dove straight into the art direction going for a geometric and colorful style which felt grainy and cinematic. The story came naturally and following storyboards I had created, I animated each shot into what I'm very happy to share with you here.

Poster Designs
I had entered the video into a couple of film festivals and felt like I needed a poster to give it some more credibility at first glance. These were some options I came up with pulling visuals directly from the video.
Boardomatic
Ideas for me start with the simplest of sketches. I drew the storyboards for this directly in Rough Animator on the iPad while timing it to the song as I went. For the most part, the final stayed pretty similar to the boards and this process really helped me figure out the pacing I had for each shot.
